Monitor the Performance of your Heroku Postgres Add-On

MetricFire manages a service that extracts data from your Heroku Log-Drain output, and forwards them to Hosted Graphite account in the form of Graphite metrics. If you have provisioned Heroku's hostedgraphite Add-On, or manually configured your log-drains to an existing HG account, you will automatically receive Heroku Postgres metrics (provided that your PG add-on is at the standard or premium plan level).

Once the heroku-postgres metrics are in your Hosted Graphite account, you can use them to create custom dashboards and alerts. There is also a Heroku Postgres dashboard which can be generated from our Dashboard Library, that offers a great starting point:
