Use Telegraf to Collect and Forward Data from a Wide Range of Services

Telegraf is a plugin-driven server agent built on InfluxDB, and can be used for collecting and sending metrics/events from databases, systems, devices, and a range of popular technologies. It is compatible with many operating systems, and has many useful output plugins and input plugins for collecting and forwarding a wide variety of performance metrics.

See the Hosted Graphite Telegraf docs for detailed instructions on installing/configuring the agent in your servers. In addition to collecting default server performance statistics (cpu/mem/disk/processes), you can configure input plugins to collect data from many other 3rd party services, and pretty much any running process within your servers. Once telegraf metrics are being forwarded to your Hosted Graphite account, you can use these metrics to create custom dashboards and alerts.
